Coghlin Precision and Carlstrom Pressed Metal Join Forces to Offer Seamless Machining and Fabrication

WORCESTER, Mass. – June 16, 2009 – Coghlin Precision (CP), a wholly owned subsidiary of privately held Coghlin Companies, Inc. specializing in manufacturing, creative design, and engineering solutions, and Carlstrom Pressed Metal (CPM), a third generation metal stamping operation in Westborough, Massachusetts today announced a joint venture to offer customers total precision machining, stamping, and certified welding services under one roof. Together, the companies provide a deeper intellectual manufacturing base with increased capacity and a lower cost structure.

Under this joint venture, CPM will house all machining, stamping, and welding production in its Westborough facility. The Coghlin Companies’ Worcester-based corporate headquarters will serve as the primary facility for all machining sales, as well as general, administrative, and business development related services. Coghlin Precision will concentrate on sales growth in the areas of commercial, medical device, and military and defense related machining with a particular focus on expanding its certified welding capabilities to take advantage of increasing defense market opportunities.

The companies will work together to leverage and expand upon their respective registrations and certifications. Both CP and CPM are ISO 9001 certified by UL DQS. Coghlin Precision is a certified welding company and adheres to AWS D17.1. Collectively, the two companies span seven generations with decades of machining and stamping experience.
